PLACEMENT AND VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

We place volunteers in positions based on your interests, goals and availability. Take a look at the positions listed below to see what we have available.  Or, if you have a special area of expertise you would like to share with us, we will work with you to come up with a relevant project. VORP Mediator/ Facilitator
VORP Mediator/Facilitator
  • Requirements: compassionate, listening skills, relevant background, goals or interests
  • Training: CJAM 40-hour Basic Mediation Skills and Restorative Justice Training or equivalent; serve as co-restorative justice practitioner with an experienced lead RJP as an apprentice; successfully complete the evaluation process to become a RJP.
  • Availability: M - F late afternoon and evenings
  • Responsibilities: maintain client confidentiality; use CJAM Google Calendar to record appointment information; report to VORP Case Manager

 

Community Mediator
Community Mediator
  • Requirements: compassionate, listening skills, relevant background, goals or interests
  • Training: Basic Mediation Skills; serve as co-mediator with experienced lead mediator as apprentice; successfully complete the evaluation process to become a mediator
  • Availability: mornings, afternoon or evenings
  • Responsibilities: maintain client confidentiality; use CJAM Google Calendar to record appointment information; report to Community Mediation Case Manager

STEP Faciliator
STEP Faciliator
  • Requirements: compassionate, listening skills, relevant background, goals or interests
  • Training: Basic Mediation Skills and Restorative Justice Training; facilitate 3 STEP cases with at least 3 clients as an apprentice with lead facilitator.
  • Successfully complete the evaluation process to become a facilitator
  • Availability: afternoon and evenings
  • Responsibilities: complete STEP workbook with clients; maintain client confidentiality; use CJAM Calendar to record appointment information; report to Case Manager

 

Marketing/Development
Marketing/Development
  • Requirements: relevant background or current course work; attention to detail; ability to work independently
  • Training: office procedures
  • Availability: flexible hours - can work remotely
  • Responsibilities: report to Executive Director; produce newsletter; up-date website; short and long term projects as assigned

Administrative/Office
Administrative/Office
  • Requirements: relevant background or current course work; attention to detail
  • Training: office procedures
  • Availability: anytime during 9 am – 7:30 pm, Monday – Friday
  • Responsibilities: report to Administrative Coordinator; short and long term projects as assigned; answer, place and properly record phone calls; send and receive emails

Board Committee Member

The CJAM Board has several working committees including fund development, programs, finance, and governance.  Volunteers who serve on committees deepen their commitment to CJAM by helping to plan and execute important events and provide input on programing, governance and finances.

  • Responsibilities: attend meetings; complete additional tasks outside of meeting hours; report to committee on progress towards various tasks

  • Requirements: good standing within the community; available to attend all meetings
  • Responsibilities: Report to Board President; set policies; provide vision and guidance for the organization; fully support all fund raising endeavors
